Boston Braces

Improving the look of your smile is not the only benefit of having your teeth straightened. Correcting the alignment of your teeth can improve chewing or relieve you of headaches that are associated with the misalignment. Teeth that are straight are easier to floss and clean, which can help prevent gum disease. Regardless of the reason that you want or need treatment to straighten your teeth, you can get help with braces from our orthodontist Dr. Robert Barnett.
Types of Braces
Traditional Braces
Traditional braces come to mind for most people. They have metal wires, brackets and bands that are used to move teeth to the correct position. Now, there are many options, including various styles, sizes, small or clear brackets and colored bands, which especially appeal to teenagers. Dr. Barnett will provide you with an option that's right for you. Two advantages are they can't be removed, which prevents children from losing them, and they are less expensive than invisible ones.
Invisalign
Invisalign® invisible braces are another option. They can't be seen from a conversational distance. People won't be able to tell you're wearing them. With Invisalign, your teeth are straightened in half the time of traditional braces. Dr. Patricia Burba is a certified Invisalign provider. More information is available on our Invisalign page.
Porcelain Veneers
Although they are not braces, porcelain veneers can often be used to straighten your smile. This is an option that Dr. Burba or Dr. Thomas Torrisi can use to give you a smile makeover in as few as two visits. In addition to straightening your smile, the veneers will make it sparkling white, beautiful and natural-looking. You can read the details on our porcelain veneers page.
Dr. Barnett, Dr. Burba and Dr. Torrisi work together to give you an honest recommendation of which treatment will work best for your case—traditional braces, Invisalign, treatment that includes both traditional braces and Invisalign, or porcelain veneers. With their expertise, you can find out the pros and cons of all three treatments, so that you can make an informed decision and get a beautifully straightened smile. And it's all done in a single location—our office.
