Boston Pediatric Dentist

If you're looking for a pediatric dentist in the greater Boston area, Dr. Thomas Torrisi and Dr. Patricia Burba are general dentists who love to treat children—and children enjoy coming to our office, too.
What Is a Pediatric Dentist?
A pediatric dentist is a licensed specialist who has completed two years of post-graduate training in dentistry specifically for children. Although they are not pediatric dentists, Drs. Torrisi and Burba received training in dental school to provide treatment for children's basic dental needs. It's very unlikely that your child will need treatment that requires a specialist, but if that is the case, Drs. Torrisi and Burba will refer you to one.
Many families want a dentist that can treat the entire family. It's convenient, and there is comfort in having an established relationship with a dentist that everyone in the family can see.
How We Prepare Children for a Visit
At Torrisi and Burba Dental Associates, we know that first impressions are lasting—particularly when it comes to a dental visit for children. So, when your child is about two years old, we recommend that he or she come with you to your dental appointment. Your child watches to see what grown-ups do at the dental office, how the dentist cleans or fixes teeth, and that you can leave the dental office with a smile. A dental visit will then be something that he or she wants to have—not something that he or she fears.
When your child is ready for an appointment, you are welcome to come into the treatment room. We pay attention to your child, and we never push children to have treatment. If your child is agreeable, we proceed with the treatment. If he or she wants us to stop, we stop. Long-term dental health is critical, and we want your child to have positive experiences that make it easier to be a good dental patient.
Drs. Torrisi and Burba are family dentists. We'll give you and your child tips on how to take care of teeth from an early age—when the first tooth appears. And our office is kid-friendly. We have a toy-chest full of fun things to play with, a welcoming environment and a friendly staff.
Call our office to schedule an appointment for an exam for your child. Or, if you and your child want to first meet Dr. Burba or Dr. Torrisi, see our office and ask a few questions, you can request a complimentary consultation.
