Boston Porcelain Veneers

In as few as two visits, you can get a beautiful smile makeover with porcelain veneers—very thin wafers of porcelain that are bonded to the front of your teeth. And greater Boston cosmetic dentists Dr. Thomas Torrisi and Dr. Patricia Burba create beautiful smile makeovers with them. Both dentists are members of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Porcelain Veneers—What They Correct

Porcelain veneers can look like natural teeth

The veneers solve a lot of problems with teeth. They can correct teeth that have gaps, are worn, chipped or that have tetracycline stains. Your smile can be transformed to look natural and beautiful.

For many people, they are also an alternative to braces for crooked teeth—a clear advantage to orthodontic treatment, which can take one to three years.

Why Choose a Dental Artist

Although the veneers can be placed by just about any dentist, it takes an artistic cosmetic dentist to create a smile makeover that fits your preferences, personality and that beautifully and naturally corrects the problems with your teeth.

In addition to artistic inclination, a dental artist has received post-graduate education to learn the techniques required to manipulate the veneers for color and translucency, so that they re-create the look of any tooth or give you the smile makeover of your choice. Drs. Torrisi and Burba are cosmetic dentists who practice the art of smile design.

Designing Your Smile Makeover

Your teeth will be examined and x-rayed. Then, you will be involved in the process of designing your smile makeover. Dr. Torrisi or Dr. Burba will talk with you regarding your preferences for your new smile. What shape and how long do you want your teeth to be? What about the color and brightness? What do you want your smile to convey—boldness, warmth, maturity?

Based on your input and Dr. Torrisi's or Dr. Burba's professional opinion, a wax-up of the smile will be made. He or she will determine how the veneers will look if they are placed directly on your teeth with no advance preparation of the teeth. If your teeth will look bulky without the preparation, then they will be lightly shaved so that the veneers will look and feel natural.

When you're absolutely happy with the look of the wax-up, it will be used to make provisional veneers. And you must be delighted with the look of the provisional veneers before impressions of them are sent to our master ceramist who will make your porcelain veneers.

When the porcelain veneers are ready, a try-in paste will be used so that you can test them out. You'll wear them to see how they look and feel. If you have any hesitation—if you don't absolutely love them—they'll be returned to our ceramist for adjustments or to be completely re-made.

Your veneers will be permanently bonded to your teeth when you absolutely love your smile makeover. Read about Dr. Torrisi's and Dr. Burba's beautiful smile guarantee.
